Caribbean Gardens and Market has
been operating since the 1970's, when it started with only a handful of
traders selling wares from their car boots and Water ski shows.
What once
was “a handful of traders” has today grown into a bustling undercover market
with over 1000 stall sites, one of the largest markets in Victoria,
occupying the 5770 metre pavilion.
The market offers a huge variety of goods
ranging from clothing, fresh produce, lollies, plants, art and crafts,
household goods, tools, prints, shoes, toys, giftware and bric-a-brac. If
computers interest you in any way, then you will love the right wing of our
market, which is dedicated entirely to computers and everything associated
with them. There are 100's of stalls, so, no matter what you're
searching for, you're sure to find it in our computer section. There
are permanent stallholders, but those people wanting to rent a stall on a
casual basis can turn up on the day and hire a stall (See stall enquiries
icon on LHS).
The Gardens cover an area of
approximately 100 acres surrounding the beautiful Lake Caribbean.
Throughout the picnic grounds are BBQ's (free wood supplied) and plenty of
picnic tables under the shade of beautiful elm, gum and pine trees.
Young, old, or
somewhere in-between we've managed to cater for everyone, whether you'd like
to shop, have lunch, stroll around the lake, watch the kids on the
rides/playground or perhaps just sit back, relax, and soak up the wonderful
atmosphere Caribbean Gardens creates.
Rides operate every
Sunday 11am to 4pm and during school holidays rides also operate on
Wednesdays (subject to weather conditions).
For only $3.00 per ride you can enjoy a
Chairlift ride, Train ride or Jungle Cruise. A fun and affordable way to entertain the
children.
The Caribbean restaurant
and take-away
Kiosk caters for
snacks, light food or a full meals, and makes a great cappuccino.
If your looking for a relaxing
day out or somewhere to entertain the children for the day, Caribbean
Gardens has it all.
Caribbean Gardens and
Market is situated at the foothills of the Dandenongs in
Scoresby, just 25 km
from Melbourne. Caribbean Gardens and Market is open every Wednesday and
Sunday.
