When is the market open?
The market is open every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with the exception of Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Trading hours are as follows:
Wednesday: 8.30am – 3.00pm
Friday: 8.30am – 2.30pm
Sunday: 8.30am – 4.30pm
The Caribbean Gardens Complex is open the following times:
Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Sunday: 8:30am – 6:00pm
What is the admission price to enter the market?
Wednesday: FREE
Friday: FREE
Sunday: $2.50 Admission
$1.00 U13 & aged pensioners
When do the rides run and how much do they cost?
The train, jungle cruise and chairlift operate every Sunday (weather permitting) from 11am. There are currently free train rides every Friday morning from 9am to 11am (weather permitting).
Rides also operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in the school holidays (weather permitting).
Ride Costs
Jungle Cruise: $4.00 per person
Train Ride: $4.00 per person
Chair Lift: $4.00 per person (each way)
How do I apply for a stall at the market and how much does it cost?
The Ferntree Gully Road gate opens at 6:00 am and all stall tickets must be purchased at the ticket box.
After you have purchased your stall ticket, proceed down the roadway towards the market and join the queue on the left hand side of the road.
Casual stall allocation from this queue commences at approximately 8:00am. Our staff will need to be advised of how many stalls you require and what you are selling. We then direct you to your stall. Once you have promptly unloaded your stock onto the stall, your vehicle must be removed from the market pavilion by 8:30am as this is when the market is open to the general public.
Costs
The price includes the use of a 3ft x 7ft (.900 x 2.1mtrs) table with enough space to stand behind the stall.
Wednesday: $16.00
Friday: $5.00
Sunday: $22.00 undercover stall …….. $10.00 outside stall
Can I sell food at the market?
NO TAKEAWAY FOOD what-so-ever can be sold by the stallholders.
Can I return or exchange an item purchased?
This is at the discretion of the stallholder. You will need to contact the stallholder or shop owner from where you purchased your item.
Can I sell live animals at the market?
Generally, the selling of any animals is NOT permitted at the market. For further information call 9756-5000.
Can I bring my dog to the market?
No pets are permitted at the market, with the exception of dogs for the visually impaired.
